Reading Triathlon, Aquathlon & Aquabike
Race at the home of Triathlon in the UK
Entries now open for this year’s Reading Triathlon, Aquathlon and Aquabike!
Join us on Sunday September 14th 2025 for the Reading Triathlon, Aquathlon and Aquabike. The Reading Triathlon was the birthplace of triathlon in the UK, with the first official British Triathlon National Championships held at the Kirtons Farm Water Sports Centre in 1983. Tri2O Triathlon Club proudly hosts the Reading Triathlon, a race organised by triathletes with the best race experience in mind – still at the original venue!
This year, we’re returning with five fantastic race options: Sprint, Standard, Sprint Relay, Aquathlon and Aquabike.
Sprint | 750 m swim, 22 km cycle, 5.4 km run |
Standard | 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle, 10.8 km run |
Sprint Relay | As Sprint, but with 2-3 participants in a team |
Aquathlon | 750 m swim, 5.4 km run |
Aquabike | 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle |
Experience the exhilaration of an open water swim in the beautiful H2O Swim Centre lake, followed by a picturesque cycle course through the quiet local lanes of Burghfield, Mortimer, Silchester, Bramley, Stratfield Saye and Grazeley (both Sprint and Standard are single loop), before finishing with an off-road run around the lakeside track.
The Reading Triathlon is conveniently located just off the M4 with ample parking and proximity to Reading Green Park Station. The triathlete-led event team prides itself on its friendly and welcoming atmosphere and this well-organised event suits beginners and experienced triathletes alike.
As a club-run event, our primary focus is the athlete experience; all proceeds from the event are shared between reinvestment in the club to support activities for members, significant donations to charity, and where possible a small contribution to volunteers to say thank you for their efforts. We are again supporting local charity “Sport in Mind” this year, whose mission is to transform the lives and mental health of children and adults through sport and physical activity. For more information please visit their website.
We are also supporting the charity Women in Tri UK, whose aim is to help more women get into triathlon by removing barriers, offering support, and empowering first-timers and beginners to take the plunge. We are delighted to be working with this fantastic volunteer-led charity as Silver Event Partners this year!
Entries are open now, and we have kept the prices the same as in 2024 until the end of April when there will be a small price rise.
